Thank you for your interest in the Center for Translational Research on Inflammatory Diseases. Our center was established in 2013 as part of a Research Strategic Planning Initiative at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) to foster collaborative research and mentoring at MEDVAMC by ²ÝÁñÉçÇøÈë¿Ú investigators. CTRID consists of a biomedical laboratory and clinical research faculty and trainees pursuing a variety of scientific interests related to inflammation, which contributes to a broad range of diseases affecting veterans and the population at large.
CTRID represents a unique collaborative initiative with its activities supported by the Houston VA Research & Education Foundation, Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and ²ÝÁñÉçÇøÈë¿Ú. The alignment between these entities enables CTRID to fulfill its vision of integrating the basic science research environment at MEDVAMC into a center of excellence for translational research and mentoring in cooperation with its affiliate, ²ÝÁñÉçÇøÈë¿Ú.
I invite you to browse through our website and learn about our investigators and ongoing research and if available, to attend our weekly scientific seminars on Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Rolando E. Rumbaut, M.D., Ph.D.
