
Section Highlights
- The section increased total clinical visits to nearly 13,700 and grows revenue by over 6 percent, reflecting rising demand and the team's ability to expand access to high-quality care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
- The Adult Developmental Medicine Fellowship program continues to grow, expanding from two to four fellows for the upcoming academic year and training future leaders in IDD care.
- The section secures nearly $800,000 in external research funding to support projects focused on improving clinical outcomes and quality of life for patients with IDD.
- Project ECHO, a new educational lecture series addressing healthcare for individuals with IDD, launches successfully and receives continued funding to expand its impact beyond Baylor.

We provide elective rotations for residents, medical students and nurses, and internship opportunities for social work students. We also offer a fellowship in Developmental Medicine.
