
Trainees Present Research at 2024 NUTRITION Meeting, Recognized for Excellence

Three trainees from the Moran Lab attended the annual meeting of the American Society for Nutrition in Chicago. Postdoc trainee Megumi Seese, PhD's research on carotenoid status across pregnancy and medical student trainee Anna Norman, BS's research on genetic determinants of skin and plasma carotenoid status were recognized with poster competition awards from the Carotenoid and Vitamin A Research Interest Group (CARIG). Katelyn Senkus, PhD's research was selected for an oral presentation. Congratulations to our outstanding trainees for these recognitions of their outstanding research progress!

Dr. Moran and other experts on nutrition and cancer from around the world discussed some foods related to cancer risk reduction with author, Nikki Campo for an article entitled "Can Certain Foods Really Reduce Your Cancer Risk?" As the article discussed, "You won鈥檛 find a silver bullet in a single food, experts say, but there are some that may help you build the best defense." .

July 22, 2023: Shivanki Juneja, medical student trainee with the Moran Lab, traveled to Boston, MA to present her research on the Relative Validity of Nutrition Assessment Tools for Estimating Infant Carotenoid Intake at the American Society for Nutrition's Annual Research Meeting. Congratulations Shivanki! Dr. Moran gave podium presentations on the lab's recent research findings.
