Professional Statement
I am committed to optimizing the health and well being of patients, trainees and providers. I have held leadership roles in medical education at both graduate (as Associate Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program) and undergraduate (as Associate Dean of Curriculum for the School of Medicine) levels. In these roles, I facilitated curriculum development and implementation, including efforts to improve the clinical learning environment. Additionally, I have a strong personal and professional interest in Physician Wellness, and have led several initiatives at local, regional and national levels aimed to reduce burnout and increase physicians' sense of meaning in the workplace. In 2022, I joined the Center for Professionalism, which seeks to create and nourish a culture of civility and compassion across the College, through education, remediation and building community. Through my clinical Infectious Diseases practices at McNair and Thomas Street Health Center, I aim to provide high quality care to patients with general Infectious Diseases or HIV-related conditions or risk factors. Fundamentally, I strive to be a strong clinician for my patients, an accessible teacher and mentor for trainees, and an effective leader and scholar in medical education, professionalism and wellness.Websites
