Professional Statement
Research in the Arey lab focuses on identifying novel and conserved regulators of learning and memory, with a particular focus on cognitive aging. We use an interdisciplinary approach, combining C. elegans genetics and genomics tools along with microscopy and behavioral assays. We are particularly interested in how changes in synaptic function and transmission contribute to age-related memory loss, and finding pathways that prevent cognitive decline.Selected Publications
