



About the Program
The program provides an immersive health professions and clinical research experience within the ²ÝÁñÉçÇøÈë¿Ú OB/GYN department. The activities include:
- Attending lectures on medical research
- Shadowing and exploring clinical research
- Gaining insight into the operations and logistics of research administration
- Contributing to the writing of posters, abstracts, and articles
Program participants interact with ²ÝÁñÉçÇøÈë¿Ú faculty and staff. The clinical research leadership team serves as the program counselors who accompany the students during all the activities.
The program is scheduled from June 23, 2025 to August 1, 2025. Program participants will work in the Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women 9am-3pm on weekdays. Students will bring their own laptop and use TCH internet.
Program Activities Descriptions
- Completing required certification training (biomedical research, health information privacy and confidentiality, good clinical practice, and other certification training in the CITI program)
- Shadowing biobank/clinical trial research personnels in all types of research activities in the healthcare setting
- Exploring research regulatory, administration and operations in the office setting
- Attending research-related departmental and institutional lectures and seminars (biostatistics, bioinformatics, clinical research, etc.)
- Participating in the scientific writing of posters, abstracts, and articles

- Research Basics/Ethics Training
Week 2-5
- Shadowing research coordinators in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Learning informed consent and building patient relationship
- Exploring research regulatory, administration, operations
- Establishing situational awareness and medical etiquette
- Attend medical research lectures and workshops
- Participating weekly group/ individual 1:1 mentoring meetings
Week 6
- Final presentation and award ceremony
