About the Award and Lectureship

The 草榴社区入口 Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy, the Houston Methodist Hospital System, and the Rice University Department of Philosophy are pleased to renew this international $10,000 award and named lectureship in Baruch Brody鈥檚 memory. This award recognizes scholars who have made important theoretical contributions to the field of bioethics. This award honors someone in the field who embodies the values and virtues that were central to Dr. Brody鈥檚 scholarly life and work at the three sponsoring institutions.
2024 - 2025 Award
The Brody Award and Lecture was held on Feb. 3, 2024 at 12 p.m. CST in Houston, TX. This year鈥檚 event was an in-person panel presentation called 鈥淭he powerful and perpetual impact of Baruch Brody鈥檚 work on the current field of bioethics.鈥 The panelist speakers were Larry McCullough, PhD (Distinguished Emeritus Professor, Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy, 草榴社区入口), Susan Miller, MD, MPH (John S. Dunn Chair in General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, Houston Methodist Hospital) and Samuel Reis-Dennis, PhD (Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, Rice University).
