When other treatment options have been ruled out, ²ÝÁñÉçÇøÈë¿Ú, in partnership with the Family Fertility Center at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women, provides expertise in in vitro fertilization (IVF) and related services. The ²ÝÁñÉçÇøÈë¿Ú IVF program long ago celebrated a milestone of 1,700 IVF babies.
With IVF, eggs are surgically removed from the ovary and mixed with sperm outside the body. If the eggs become fertilized, these embryos are placed in the woman's uterus, bypassing the fallopian tubes.
IVF is considered the most effective treatment for patients with:
- Blocked, severely damaged or absent fallopian tubes
- Endometriosis
- Male factor infertility
- Longstanding unexplained infertility
- Premature ovarian failure treated with donated oocytes
- Severe pelvic adhesions
- Uterine anomalies
- Diminished ovarian reserve
